Bandai adds Cocomelon to distribution roster in EU countries

Company to distribute the licensed toy range for YouTube hit in the UK, plus France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

Bandai UK has secured the distribution for toys based on preschool YouTube channel, Cocomelon, in EU countries.

As well as distributing the licensed range in the UK, Bandai will also serve France, Italy, Spain and Portugal.

It will launch the initial line in the autumn including plush, bath play, role-play, character figures, vehicles and play-sets.

A YouTube channel for preschoolers, Cocomelon currently boasts the largest kids’ audience in YouTube’s history. The animated channel follows JJ and his family, learning through themes and nursery rhymes.

It has over 85 million subscribers and more than 66 billion views and is currently the most watched YouTube channel in the world.

The product lines will focus on JJ and his friends and family, replicating well-known storylines and favourite songs which appear in the YouTube content.

“We’re thrilled to be distributing the Cocomelon range as we identified the channel some time ago as having huge potential,” said Nic Aldridge, md at Bandai UK. “This fantastic product captures the essence of life lessons and entertainment, extending these beyond the YouTube channel to a physical preschool range for children to enjoy at home.”
