Classic Rainbow property helps raise funds for the NHS

Profits from Boat Rocker show products to go to NHS charities.

Boat Rocker Studios has secured a deal with Bioworld International to produce t-shirts designed around classic property, Rainbow, with profits from the sales going to the NHS.

In addition, Boat Rocker and independent children’s book publisher, Sweet Cherry will be offering the NHS 25% of their net sales for June of their Rainbow books. The collection of three colourful hand puppet books are aimed at preschoolers and each feature one of Rainbow’s iconic characters: Bungle, Zippy and George.

“With thousands of homes across the country featuring the colourful symbols in support of our NHS heroes, the iconic Rainbow is a completely natural fit for this worthy campaign,” said Kate Schlomann, evp brand management and content marketing at Boat Rocker Studios. “We are proud to have agreed this initiative with our valued partners at Bioworld and Sweet Cherry to support the wonderful efforts of the NHS during this tremendously difficult time.”

Richard Radford, head of licensing at Bioworld International, added: “The NHS is doing an incredible job in unprecedented circumstances and we wanted to show our thanks and appreciation.

“What better way than to produce Rainbow t-shirts to reflect the rainbows decorating homes across the country, with the profits going directly to the NHS.”

Sweet Cherry’s hand puppet books are the first in the company’s Rainbow collection, with forthcoming titles including sound books, novelty books, board books and gift books due later this year and beyond.

Neil Hardwick, head of licensing at Sweet Cherry, commented: “We are excited to see the market’s response to our Rainbow hand puppet books and hope to expand this range into exciting new formats.”

The publisher also has a deal with Boat Rocker for its reality style teen drama, The Next Step.
