Poetic Brands unveils Help Our NHS Heroes initiative

Licences including Sooty, Haynes and Thunderbirds on board with 100% of profits from product sales going to charity.

Poetic Brands has teamed up with a number of partners to launch a collection of licensed t-shirts and other merchandise to raise funds for NHS Charities Together.

Working with online retailer Pogo Group and print company Fanela, the licensed adult apparel specialist launched www.helpournhsheroes.com last month.

Beginning with non licensed designs which enabled consumers to show their appreciation for the NHS and the ‘stay at the home’ message, the offer quickly expanded to include a number of licences, the first of which to come on board was Sooty.

Richard Cadell and UK agent, Those Licensing People, worked with Poetic Brands on a collection of t-shirts and mugs for adults and children featuring Sooty, Sweep and Soo, promoting the initiative across the brand’s social media platforms – and resulting in an 800% lift in sales.

Help Our NHS Heroes was then opened up to other brands with Thunderbirds, The Original Stormtrooper and Haynes now on board. In addition, there is a collection of Captain Tom Moore t-shirts, with the designs created by a number of artists.

100% of profits from every sale go to the NHS Charities Together.

Anne Bradford, director at Poetic Brands, told Source that they are actively encouraging other brands to get involved. “The initiative is open for anyone to come board – even if we don’t usually work with them on the licence,” she explained. “It’s all about getting really great product out there and raising the maximum amount of money we possibly can for NHS Charities Together. The beauty of print of demand means that we can easily amend and update designs to incorporate changing government messaging and to be able to give something back to the NHS is truly amazing.”
