CITV to extend broadcast hours

ITV to extend hours of children’s channel to 9pm from today.

ITV is extending the evening broadcast hours of its CITV children’s channel to 9pm from today (Monday February 22).

This will mark the first major change in CITV’s broadcast hours since its launch as a standalone channel ten years ago, according to website a516 Digital.

CITV will now run for 15 hours a day, from 6am to 9pm.

However, the extra hours will only be broadcast on satellite, cable and the ITV Hub online platform.

The move follows the announcement of the BBC’s plans to extend the hours of its CBBC channel.
