British Museum among Asian Licensing Awards winners

Museum picks up the Newcomer accolade at ceremony taking place alongside Hong Kong International Licensing Show.

The British Museum was flying the flag for the UK at the 2019 Licensing International Asian Licensing Awards on Sunday night.

The museum – which has enjoyed strong success in the Asian market over the past year – picked up the Newcomer award during the ceremony, which was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre and coincided with the Hong Kong International Licensing Show.

Other winners included Marvel, B.Duck, Starbucks and Avengers: Endgame.

  • Asian Property of the Year – B.Duck (SEMK Products)
  • Corporate Brand/Lifestyle Property – Marvel (The Walt Disney Company)
  • Digital – Honor of Kings (Tencent)
  • Entertainment Property (Animated) – Boonie Bears: Blast into the Past (Fantawild Animation)
  • Entertainment Property (Live Action) – Avengers: Endgame (Marvel/Disney)
  • Licensed Promotion of the Year – Starbucks x Jimmy Liao’s The Moon Forgets co-branded gift card kits (JIMMY S.P.A/Starbucks)
  • Location-based or Experiential – Ali’s Wonderful Land in Chengdu (Beijing Dream Castle Culture/Chengdu New Pastoralism Theme Park Management)
  • Retailer of the Year – Miniso Hong Kong for We Bare Bears
  • Licensee of the Year (Apparel/Footwear/Accessories) – Fujian Lixun Group for B.Duck adult/kids tide shoes, clothing and boutique accessories
  • Licensee of the Year (FMCG) – The FAce Shop for Coca-Cola cosmetics
  • Licensee of the Year (Housewares/Novelties) – Miniso for the Miniso x Pantone series
  • Licensee of the Year (Toys) – Hot Toys for Marvel collectables and merchandise
  • The Newcomer Award – The British Museum
