The Cursed Child to hit shelves after play’s world premiere, plus 20th anniversary plans for The Philosopher’s Stone.
A wave of new Harry Potter publishing is set to hit shelves, led by a script book of the new stage play, The Cursed Child.
Print and digital editions of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II will publish after the play’s world premiere this summer.
The titles will be a special rehearsal edition, with a version of the play’s script at the time of its preview performances.
Opening in London’s West End this summer, the play is officially the eighth story in the Harry Potter franchise and picks up where The Deathly Hallows ended.
Meanwhile, 2017 marks 20 years since Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was first published in the UK.
To celebrate, four special editions of the first book – one for each of the four Hogwarts houses – will be published.
There will also be a new edition of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them (featuring new content from JK Rowling), plus new formats and editions of the Hogwarts Library books, which include Quidditch Through the Ages and The Tales of Beedle the Bard.
