Iceland teams with Disney for Frozen-inspired Christmas ad

Supermarket significantly ups licensing presence with major ‘The Magic of Frozen’ ad spot.

Iceland has significantly raised its profile in the licensing space this Christmas – partnering with Disney for a Frozen 2-inspired ad campaign.

The ad spot – which premiered on ITV on November 1 and is titled ‘The Magic of Frozen’ – includes bespoke animation from Walt Disney Animation Studios and an array of Frozen characters such as Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Sven and Olaf, reported The Independent.

The clip begins with a child playing charades with his family, alongside a giant Olaf, before viewers are transported into the world of Frozen where the character acts out decorating the tree, opening presents and throwing snowballs. Elsa then magics up a table made of ice ready for the characters to eat, with viewers then taken back to the boy and his family as they sit down to eat an Iceland Christmas dinner.

“We wanted to treat viewers to a magical Christmas advert this year and there is no better partner than Disney. We are both experts in Frozen,” said Neil Hayes, director of marketing at Iceland.
