Sophie la girafe partners on maternity necklaces

Brand teams with Ilado for new collection of ‘maternity bolas’.

Sophie la girafe has teamed up with Ilado, a company which specialises in the creation of maternity necklaces.

Maternity bolas – traditional jewellery of Mayan mothers – have a number of benefits and allow expectant mothers to connect with their babies.

The jewels emit a crystalline sound which will bring calm and harmony to baby and mum. Once the baby is born, the mother can slide the maternity necklace into the baby’s comforter so the sound can continue to be heard.

Sophie la girafe has partnered with Ilado on a new Mother-Baby Bonding Box (€95). It includes a maternity bola with a pendant in 18 carat gold or silver-plated brass, as well as a silk cord and tassels in the colours of Sophie la girafe.

The box also includes a Sophie lovey in which the mother can place her pendant after the birth, plus a maternity necklace guide which explains its origin and benefits, as well as providing a description of gestures to perform with the necklace throughout pregnancy.
