Moomin x Tatty Devine collaboration launches

Collection featuring classic characters includes necklaces, earrings and brooches.

The eagerly awaited collaboration between Moomin and London-based jewellery designer Tatty Devine has officially launched today (October 17).

The collection – which includes necklaces, earrings and brooches – features beloved characters and design elements plucked straight from the world of Moominvalley, created by Tove Jansson in the 1940s.

A special celebratory event is due to take place at Tatty Devine’s Seven Dials store on October 26, when celebrity nail artist Lee Moore will be in-store giving fans ‘Moomin manicures’.

Inspired by Lee’s ornate Moomin nails created for Moominvalley actress Rosamund Pike at its premiere in Helsinki earlier this year, fans will be able to choose from a selection of Moomin-inspired colours and designs for £10 per person. The manicure will include lacquer nail polish and a ‘feature’ nail with a character of their choice.

“Moomin and Tatty Devine share a significant fan base of cool, young women who love the bright and the bold and who cherish craft, design and creative integrity,” said Sophia Jansson, creative director of Moomin Characters and nieve of Tove Jansson. “I know that Tove, who was herself both an artist and a businesswoman, would greatly admire what Harriet and Rosie have achieved whilst staying totally true to their own vision. We are delighted to be collaborating with them on this beautiful range.”

Rosie Wolfenden MBE and Harriet Vine MBE, the founders of Tatty Devine, said of the collaboration: “We have always greatly admired Tove, so to visit her studio and meet her niece Sophia was a real privilege and a source of inspiration.

“There is a natural synergy in the underlying messages of friendship and love that flow through both of our creations. We can’t wait to reveal this collection to a whole new generation of Tatty Devine and Moomins fans, and we can’t wait to wear it.”
