Amscan, Danilo and IG Design Group set to deliver further growth for categories.
eOne has appointed a raft of new party, gift packaging and greeting cards partners for Peppa Pig and PJ Masks in the UK.
Amscan has been appointed to produce a range of party products for both properties that will complement its existing balloon and dress-up lines; Danilo is on board to produce a range of greetings cards in addition to its existing range of calendars; and IG Design Group – which currently produces Peppa Pig stationery – will add gift wrap and gift bags for both licences.
eOne will be working closely with all partners to harness its vault of creative assets and style guides to inspire fresh ranges and new formats that are relevant to current customer trends.
“The party and greetings category is an extremely important part of the licensing programme, it deepens the emotional connection that fans have with our brands at a very special time in their lives,” said eOne’s Katie Rollings, svp licensing UK, Family & Brands. “We’re excited to be strengthening our partnerships with market leaders in these categories and we are confident that Amscan, Danilo and IG Designs will create new ranges that bring immense joy to family celebrations, milestones and seasonal events throughout the UK.”
Mel Beer, licensing director EMEA at Amscan, said the new deal means that the company can now offer a ‘one stop party’ experience for its customers.
Meanwhile, Dan Grant, licensing director at Danilo, said that both Peppa Pig and PJ Masks are preschool properties which he has admired for many years. “The addition of these brands to the Danilo portfolio will provide an even stronger proposition for us to take to retail,” he commented. “Danilo already has an established relationship with eOne through the calendar side of the business and we very much look forward to building this relationship further with the new opportunity on greeting cards.”
Adrian Coates, commercial director at IG Design Group UK, continued: ”We are extremely pleased and excited to have this opportunity to work closer with eOne on Peppa Pig and PJ Masks and are looking forward to further developing the commercial and creative side of these franchises for the future.”
The new deals come as liquidators PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC) are in the final throes of closing off Gemma International’s business for good, following its demise last month through a CVL.
