Mexican artist’s most famous works featured on brand’s classic skate shoes.
Vans Vault is honouring late Mexican artist Frida Kahlo with its latest brand collaboration.
The collection of sneakers is comprised of three Vans silhouettes – the Sk8-Hi, Authentic and Slip-On.
Each style mixes Van’s classic skate style with some of Frida’s most famous works including the Self-Portrait with Thorn Necklace and Hummingbird painting and the Viva la Vida painting which was created in 1954, just days before the artist’s death.
The collection launches on June 29.
“Frida and Vans is the perfect partnership between two great iconic brands, on the street and for the people,” said Maria Strid from Art Ask Agency, the European agent for The Frida Kahlo Corporation.
