Redan scoops National Newspaper and Magazine award

Peppa Pig Bag-O-Fun takes home Children’s Magazine of the Year.

Redan Publishing is celebrating after its bestselling Peppa Pig Bag-O-Fun was awarded a National Newspaper and Magazine accolade.

The title won Children’s Magazine of the Year, with the award given by the Association of Circulation Executives (ACE) to the magazine which has ‘excelled in engaging with their audience while adding genuine value to the market’.

FTL Peppa Pig Bag-O-Fun has a current circulation of 80,987 (July-Dec 2018 ABC), making it the bestselling magazine in the entire children’s market.

The judges’ comments concluded that Redan deserved the title “for taking this character to a new level of fun and learning, with strong supporting sales”.

In addition, editor/designer Shane Jones has also been nominated in the Designer of the Year category by the Periodical Publishers Association. The winner will be revealed at a gala awards ceremony on June 19.

“We are immensely proud of Peppa Pig Bag-O-Fun magazine,” said Julie Jones, md of Redan Publishing. “Its unique format has been developed in-house to differentiate it from our other Peppa Pig magazine. Each issue has a themed story running through it, with multi-layered activities on every page, to really immerse our readers in Peppa’s world.

“Ranking number one in the entire children’s magazine market is a feat made all the more impressive by the increasing number of titles and continual decline in sales in the sector over all.”

Julie continued: “This award and Shane’s nomination for Designer of the Year in the upcoming PPA awards are both testament to the skill, hard work and dedication of the Redan team and also to the huge support and creative inspiration we receive from eOne, who continue to make working with the Peppa brand a real joy.”
