Disney Store unveils Aladdin charity initiative

Licensor collaborates with Make-A-Wish to help unlock life-changing wishes for seriously ill children.

Disney Stores is collaborating with Make-A-Wish to help celebrate the new Aladdin movie, helping to unlock life-changing wishes for seriously ill children.

Disney Stores across the UK and Europe are inviting guests to visit their local store on Saturday May 25 where the first 100 customers to purchase Aladdin products over the value of £15, will receive a special Aladdin-themed Disney Store key. Every key gifted will unlock a £3 donation to Make-A-Wish by Disney Worldwide Services to help to grant more wishes for seriously ill children across Europe.

The collaboration is one of many activities that The Walt Disney Company and Make-A-Wish have participated in to celebrate the launch of Aladdin.

As well as special gala screenings and additional wish granting at Disney Stores and Disneyland Paris, on World Wish Day (April 30), The Walt Disney Company and Make-A-Wish also launched the #FriendLikeMe Challenge, a cause marketing campaign between two of Make-A-Wish’s wish granters, Disney and Will Smith. The challenge encouraged fans to post and tag on Twitter and/or Instagram who they would grant three wishes for if they were the Genie.

“There is such a strong link between the much-loved story of Aladdin and the real impact wishes can bring through the work of wish-granting organisations such as Make-A-Wish, so we’re thrilled to launch the Aladdin keys campaign with Disney Store to help unlock life-changing wishes for seriously ill children as part of Disney’s ‘Aladdin’ Make-A-Wish celebration campaign,” said Graham Burridge, md of Disney Stores Europe. “Each year our cast members across our 95 Disney stores and concessions dedicate more than 20,000 hours to volunteering, including helping wishes come true for seriously ill children in our local communities.”
