The B&LLAs 2019: The Retail winners

Oasis, John Lewis & Partners, Tesco and Boots all crowned in the Retail category.

Four major retail names walked away victorious at the Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards last week.

The retail category focused on the commitment to the brand licensing sector within the retail space, across the high street, grocery, department stores and specialist.

The Best High Street Fashion Brand Licensed Retailer Execution (sponsored by Beanstalk) was awarded to Oasis which has been incredibly active in the brand licensed space over the past 12 months.

Victoria Gable, head of estate and store development at Oasis (who collected the award), said: “I feel so proud. We know our brand and it’s all about the right choice of licences.”

For the second year running, John Lewis & Partners was triumphant in the Best Department Store or Mixed Retailer Brand Licensed Retailer Execution (sponsored by Country Living magazine). The retailer continues to embrace the possibilities that brand licensing offers across many departments.

Sara Allbright, buyer of gifts and candle shop – who collected the award with cookshop buyer, Elaine Hooper – commented: “We are so proud; this is fabulous and a great accolade to receive. We always try to find something new to offer customers coming into John Lewis & Partners.”

Another retailer doing the double and following up on a 2018 win was Tesco, which walked away with Best Supermarket Brand Licensed Retailer Execution (sponsored by TSBA Group).

Samantha Petit – who collected the award with fellow licence manager Natalie Ackerman (both pictured above) – said: “This is such a great feeling and really showcases all the hard work.”

Finally, Best Specialist Brand Licensed Execution (sponsored by Brandgenuity) was presented to Boots.
