First sign ups confirmed for Brand Licensing Select

Global Icons and Boy Scouts of America among those on board for new event.

Emerald Expositions has revealed the first wave of brands signed up to its new event, Brand Licensing Select.

Brands including Global Icons, Boy Scouts of America, Meredith Brands and The Brand Liaison among others have all committed to the new hosted buyer event, which takes place in New York from September 27-29.

The business platform will welcome a selected group of invited brands and retailers (with there being no fee for retailers to attend). Brands will be matched up with retailers in advance based on requests.

“Call it the non-trade show,” said Liz Crawford, vp of Emerald Expositions Licensing. “There is no conference, except a CEO Roundtable, so it’s not your ordinary licensing event.

“We feel, as event organisers, we need to deliver real value to our customers and in the brand space, this is one way to tackle that need.”

Retailers showing an interest range from specialty to mass market, home stores, ‘big box’ stores and grocery chains.
