Tetris slots into Sushi Shop menu

Limited edition collaboration for branded sushi boxes and chopsticks planned for Europe and Middle East.

Gourmet sushi specialist, Sushi Shop is teaming with video games brand Tetris on a special in-store collaboration.

The limited edition launch is part of the 35th anniversary celebrations for Tetris.

Starting from April, Sushi Shop will introduce a limited collector’s edition of sushi boxes and chopsticks inspired by Tetris with each featuring the shapes and colours of the game’s iconic Tetriminos.

There will be three sushi box styles to choose from – with each shaped as a different Tetrimino – which will feature three exclusive sushi creations including Sushi Salmon Tsukudani, Sunny Veggie California and Pulled Beef California for €45.

Meanwhile, the chopsticks will be able to be purchased separately or with one of the sushi boxes.

“Over the years, we’ve seen fans post amazing Tetris-inspired sushi creations online, but Sushi Shop is taking it to a whole other level,” said Maya Rogers, president and ceo of Blue Planet Software, the agent for the Tetris brand.

“A first of its kind collaboration for Tetris as we celebrate the brand’s 35th anniversary, Sushi Shop’s chefs and design team have used their incredible talents to reimagine the game into a gourmet feast with the utensils to match. We’re excited to hear what their customers say about it.”
