Steve McQueen brand makes licensing move

Greenlight looking to create men’s apparel and accessory programmes around Hollywood legend.

Hollywood icon Steve McQueen is set to inspire a collection of smart, tailored apparel and accessories.

Greenlight and the Steve McQueen estate have confirmed that partners in men’s apparel and accessories are being sought. Inspiration will be taken from the actor’s rebellious reputation and timeless look to create on-trend updated classics.

A deal has already been secured with MMC Eyewear for ophthalmic eyewear, launching throughout the EU from autumn 2019.

This will build on the success of partnerships with brands such as Barbour International, Persol and Tag Heuer.

“Steve McQueen was not only a movie star and racing enthusiast, he was a fashion icon,” said Tamra Knepfer, svp at Greenlight. “While perhaps becoming a fashion icon was not something that McQueen set out to be, his carefree style, combined with Hollywood glamour, is a look that is both timeless and classic.

“With proven success among our long-term licensing partners, we are excited to be expanding Steve McQueen into a lifestyle brand that will continue his legacy for decades to come.”
