IRONMAN has appointed CPLG as its licensing agent for the IRONMAN Triathlon Series and the IRONSPORT brand in Europe. The agency will look to develop a range of strategic licensing alliances with partners across categories including loungewear, underwear, winter accessories, bags and luggage, fitness accessories, healthy snacks, meal kits, homeware and personal care. Phase two of the licensing programme will then see CPLG develop a range of IRONSPORT products for non-technical apparel and athleisure wear, fitness and training accessories, outdoor sporting gear and beyond.

Re-Logic has appointed Bits and Pixels as its licensing agency for Europe and the Americas territories. The video game specialist will represent the 2D sandbox action game, Terraria, and will be looking to build a licensing programme which speaks to the broad player demographic. Widely renowned as one of the most successful indie titles of all time, Terraria has an upcoming launch on Nintendo Switch.

The Point.1888 is launching a new marketing service to its clients and prospects. Devised by md Will Stewart and head of business development George Birtchnell – and delivered under the direction of head of marketing, Sarah Crimes – the new marketing capability will ensure that all products created and lunched under The Point.1888 will be offered the support of an extensive marketing programme.

The Insights People – the research company behind Kids Insights and Parents Insights – has expanded into Europe, boosted by a raft of new client wins in the US and the UK. In the UK, new client brands signing up for its real-time surveys include Liverpool FC, Warner Bros. and Immediate Media. In addition, the company’s US arm has signed handicraft company Crayola and Kraft Foods. The service has also now launched in mainland Europe – Kids Insights will be surveying more than 200 children every week in Germany, France, Italy and Spain. To support this growth, the company has made three new hires: Tim Burge joins as research and trends director; Penny Wolfe will join to coordinate operations at the global HQ in Manchester; and Martin Felando joins Kids Insights US as an account director, based in New York.

This year’s Global Licensing Group Party at Licensing Expo will take place on Wednesday June 5. The annual event will take over the HyperX Esports Arena at the Luxor to bring guests an interactive networking experience with a live video game tournament. Tickets for the event will go on sale soon.

Fashion UK has added apparel to its footwear licence with confectionery specialist, Swizzels. The licensee will launch girls’ and women’s daywear, nightwear and accessories in the summer. Products will feature Love Hearts, Drumsticks, Refreshers and other brands from Swizzels. The deal was secured by Blonde Sheep Licensing.

Dutch designer Marlou Breuls debuted at Amsterdam Fashion Week on March 8 with her SpongeBob x Marlou Breuls couture collection. The collaboration was brokered by CPLG on behalf of Viacom Nickelodeon Consumer Products. Entitled The Icon Collection, the range celebrates the 20th anniversary of the character and consists of eight looks.

Skateboarding lifestyle brand Element has partnered with National Geographic to create a capsule collection aiming to ‘help people better understand the world and push the boundaries of their knowledge’. The collection takes inspiration from the animal realm and physical universe and will include a full range of skateboard desks, grip tape, wheels and apparel and accessories (such as t-shirts, hoodies, baseball caps and jackets).

Perfetti van Melle has secured the first licensing collaboration for the Fruit-tella brand. Belgian ice cream specialist IJsboerke has created a new fruity ice cream, available from mid-March in Belgian and Dutch supermarkets.

DK celebrated International Women’s Day last week (March 8) by partnering with Orbital Comics for a comic book shop takeover, also marking the release of Captain Marvel. DK’s recently published Marvel Fearless and Fantastic! Female Super Heroes Save the World took over the central London-based shop with a gallery showcasing the comic artwork which appears in the book, alongside in-store promotions and activities. A launch event celebrating the book and the gallery also took place on March 9.

All American Licensing has secured a deal with Consumers Supply Distributors (CSD) and veterinarian Dr Jan Pol, the star of Nat Geo Wild’s reality series, The Incredible Dr Pol. CSD will develop a portfolio of large animal feed, large animal supplements, small animal feed, small animal supplements, companion animal feeds and supplements, plus snacks, treats and toppers featuring the Dr Pol brand.
