LEGO reveals new lines for hotly tipped second film

The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part is due to open on Friday February 8, 2019.

The LEGO Group has taken the wraps off a collection of 16 building sets inspired by The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part.

The hotly tipped film is due to hit cinemas on Friday, February 8, 2019, with LEGO hoping to replicate the phenomenal success of the original movie.

The new collection offers something for all age groups – from LEGO Duplo up to LEGO System sets – and features minifigures and minidolls so that fans can recreate what they see on the big screen.

The collection launches in waves, with select sets available from December 1 and others following on December 26.

“LEGO bricks have both inspired and been the medium of creative storytelling around the world for more than 60 years, so it’s no surprise that there is such anticipation for the sequel to our very first LEGO theatrical film,” said Matthew James Ashton, vice president of design at The LEGO Group.

“The team had a blast collaborating with filmmakers to imagine new characters, vehicles, models and scenes that showcase the power of creativity and imagination throughout the film, and we can’t wait to see what LEGO fans of all ages create as they build and re-build the film’s adventures.”
