A series of brand collaborations and unique events across Europe marked Hello Kitty’s birthday on November 1. In London, the Hello Kitty x Pineapple collaboration with the capital’s dance institution was launched. The dance studio hosted Hello Kitty’s birthday party to celebrate the girls’ and women’s collection launching in its Covent Garden store and online. Meanwhile, in France, members of Hello Kitty Gang (the brand’s influencer collective) celebrated the birthday with an exclusive manicure by Paris-based Japanese nail artist, Yuko by Yuko. In Sweden, Sanrio’s partnership with sushi restaurant Sushi Yama launched with events in Gothenberg and Stockholm.

The Pokémon Company International has collaborated with Parisian fashion house Maison Labiche on new capsule collections of apparel and accessories for men and children. The exclusive collection consist of French classics such as mariniéres (sailor shirts), along with t-shirts and baseball caps. Maison Labiche’s signature delicate embroidery is used to pay homage to characters including Pikachu, Squirtle, Charmander and Bulbasaur.

DHX Brands is teaming with MEI Theatrical to bring the world of Twirlywoos to life on stage for the first time. The new tour is scheduled to visit over 30 venues across the UK from February, 2019.

Guru Studio has appointed Hengxin Shambala Kids to represent its flagship preschool property, True and the Rainbow Kingdom, in China. HSK will look to secure opportunities for the brand in China across television, toys, publishing, non-toy merchandise, digital games and apps, theme parks, stage plays, educational centres and carnivals. Earlier in the year, Guru Studio confirmed a series of US-based licensing deals for the brand including Aurora World and Bendon.

eOne’s new animation, Cupcake & Dino: General Services, has made its debut in Brazil on Netflix. The show is a co-production between eOne and Brazilian animation studio, Birdo Studios.
