eBay.co.uk reveals LEGO Harry Potter facts

Marketplace lists top ten facts about brand ahead of Fantastic Beasts sequel release.

eBay.co.uk has unveiled a list of facts about LEGO and Harry Potter from its marketplace.

The top ten has been released ahead of the arrival of Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald in November. It also follows eBay’s special pre-sale of ten LEGO Harry Potter sets – including the Hogwarts Express and Case of Magical Creatures – in the summer.

eBay revealed that LEGO became the UK’s third most sought after item of last year just behind iPhones and Fidget Spinners, with more than 4.4 million total searches on the site and a big spike in November, with five searches every second.

Meanwhile, The Boy Who Lived also remains a firm favourite on the online marketplace with nearly 200,000 Harry Potter related items sold from May to July this year – two every minute.

The most popular time to buy Harry Potter and LEGO related items in Sunday between 8pm and 9pm.

The most expensive Harry Potter item on eBay was a rare edition of Harry Potter and The Philosopher’s Stone, which sold for £6,300, while the most expensive LEGO item was a LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon which sold for £8,500.

Indeed, LEGO Star Wars continues to inspire a new generation of LEGO fans, with one LEGO Star Wars related item sold every minute since the release of Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

There were more than 1,160,000 searches for LEGO in 2017 on eBay.co.uk and nearly 490,000 searches since the start of 2018 up to July alone.
