New recruits Ben Woodman and Katie Ball complete the team ahead of 24-hour challenge.
After a summer of heavy training and injury doubts, the two teams who will be tackling Equinox 24 in September in aid of The Light Fund are now complete.
The Light Fund Lungers and The Light Fund Leapers – who will tackle the 24-hour run, which takes place in Leicestershire on September 22-23 – have been beset with injuries over the summer months… some more serious than others.
Shin splints, alcohol-induced training fails and dodgy knees have been rife, however the first serious casualty was a stress fracture for Jessica Fawcett, meaning she had to withdraw from the challenge.
Ben Woodman from GB eye has stepped into the breach and is “pretty sure” he can manage at least one lap.
Disaster then struck in Paris, when Nick Coveney was hit by an oar while rowing and broke his ribs.
Luckily, months of ‘persistent pestering’ from Ben Lowe has seen his fellow 6 in 6 marathon buddy Katie Ball (pictured) join the team.
The goal is for each runner to complete four laps each – covering a minimum of 200km per team.
