Why we’re backing the B&LLAs: Beanstalk

Best High Street Fashion Licensed Brand Retailer Execution sponsor explains why the new Brand & Lifestyle Licensing awards are so important.

As the deadline for entries into the inaugural Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards nears, a number of new companies have come on board as sponsors, underlining how important the sector is to the industry.

One of the first companies to pledge support was Beanstalk, which is the sponsor of the Best High Street Fashion Licensed Brand Retailer Execution category.

Beanstalk boasts a varied stable of brands including Diageo (Baileys/Guinness), Volvo, Stanley, Black & Decker, The Hummingbird Bakery, Chupa Chups, Paris Hilton and Procter & Gamble (Fairy/Max Factor) to name just a few.

Lisa Reiner, managing director Europe & Asia Pacific, believes that corporate licensing is a strategic business model that offers many benefits to a brand owner – including strengthening the relationship with consumers, increasing brand awareness, protecting trademarks and generating new revenue streams.

Lisa told The Source: “Beanstalk has been at the forefront of corporate brand licensing for 20+ years, and we are pleased to see that this specialist, growing sector of the industry is being recognised with awards.

“Licensing of corporate trademarks is an important, growing part of the industry – for example, food and restaurant licensing is currently very strong in the UK market, while fashion maintains its position as the most prolific sector for licensing worldwide.

“We have been involved with Max Publishing for many years now and are happy to support the Fashion Retailer of the Year category, in recognition of the outstanding work UK retailers continue to do to support licensed brands in the fashion and lifestyle space.”

The Brand & Lifestyle Licensing Awards takes place at The Dorchester, Park Lane on Wednesday, April 20. Entries for all categories are flooding in and further sponsors are set to be announced over the coming weeks.

Headline sponsor of the awards is Advanstar, while other partners already on board include LIMA, Emerald Exhibitions, Hallet Retail, Start Licensing, Brands With Influence, IFL Science, Discovery, Kimm & Miller, Octane 5, Pringles, JCB, Happy Jackson and Spring Fair.
