Titan gives Yellow Submarine graphic novel treatment

Caroline Mickler reveals adaptation for film’s 50th anniversary in 2018.

The Beatles Yellow Submarine is to be adapted into a graphic novel by Titan Comics as part of the brand’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

The graphic novel is due to hit UK stores in August this year to tie in with the 50th anniversary of the release of the movie, which will be re-released on July 8 in picture houses and independent cinemas across the UK.

The 120-page hardcover publication – written and illustrated by Bill Morrison – will be aimed at ages nine to adult and will retail in book stores and specialist comic shops, as well as online.

The global agreement was brokered by Bravado International, The Beatles’ US licensing agent, and Caroline Mickler for the UK.

Caroline commented: “The global launch of the first ever Yellow Submarine graphic novel is a major cause for celebration in its own right, but, thanks to the stunning artwork and brilliant storytelling of Bill Morrison, this stands out even in the graphic novel market – a market known for high-quality output.

“The Beatles: Yellow Submarine official graphic novel adaptation is both true to the spirit of this classic piece of animation and a genuine work of art.”
