Licensing Week plans revealed for Expo 2018

Line-up gives attendees a 360-degree experience at the show, says UBM.

The Licensing Week line-up for this summer’s Licensing Expo has been revealed, with UBM saying that it has been designed to give attendees a ‘well-rounded, 360-degree experience’ at the show.

The initiative runs concurrently with Licensing Expo, which this year takes place from May 22-24 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.

New to the programming slate for this year is InventHelp’s Virtual Invention Browsing Experience (VIBE), which aims to connect brand owners and manufacturers directly with inventors looking to bring the newest products to market.

In addition, Licensing University will return – organised once again by LIMA – with sessions covering international licensing, piracy issues and how AR/VR technologies will affect licensing.

An Orientation Session will offer an overview of Licensing Expo and tips on how to navigate the show floor. Guest speakers will join the presentation to give insight on their own show experience and what brings them back to Licensing Expo.

A number of brands and entertainment studios will again host invitation only entertainment showcases, providing a first look at what’s coming up in the next 12 to 18 months.

The Agents’ Business Forum will include an afternoon of networking for exhibiting licensing agents, while US brand owners and agents are invited to the International Market Panel.

“Licensing Week was born out of a desire to give our attendees a well-rounded, 360 degree experience at Licensing Expo, and this year’s line-up certainly reflects this mission,” said Jessica Blue, svp, Global Licensing Group, UBM.

“From the VIBE activation to the networking sessions and Licensing University educational talks and content, I’m confident that anyone seeking to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the licensing world will walk away with practical tools they can immediately put to use.”
