2018 Mischief Makers theme has been inspired by brand as it marks its 80th anniversary.
The Beano theme for the 2018 Summer Reading Challenge has been confirmed, as it was revealed that this year’s initiative got more children reading across the UK than previously.
Next year’s challenge will be called Mischief Makers, inspired by Beano which is the creative partner and will also be marking its 80th anniversary in 2018.
The Mischief Makers Summer Reading challenge will sit alongside a host of celebrations planned by Beano Studios throughout the year.

“With the Summer Reading Challenge now reaching three quarters of a million participants each year, we’re looking forward to working together to help children become a little more mischievous in their reading adventures.”
761,758 children took part in the Animal Agents theme at local libraries across the UK this year, an increase of 6,550 on 2016’s total.
This year’s overall figure includes 27,206 preschoolers who took part in the specially designed Mini Challenge – an increase of 7.05% on last year.
