Pokémon reveals Trick, Treat and Trade campaign

‘Spooktacular’ Halloween drive is backing Trading Card Game in over 600 UK stores.

Pokémon has launched a spooktacular tradewide campaign for its Trading Card Game in over 600 UK stores this Halloween.

Under the tagline Trick, Treat & Trade, the campaign is Pokémon’s first-ever TCG Halloween promotion, with over 1.4k individual point of sale elements specially created for a bewitching presence in stores.

Tesco, Toys R Us and Smyths have been provided with Halloween ‘Trick, Treat & Trade’ branded FSDUs and signpost standees.

Tesco will feature 400 FSDUs and 20 standees, plus two exclusive Halloween Evo Booster SKUs which can be found on the FSDU, containing a promo card for either Alolan Persian or Crobat Pokémon.

Toys R Us has 101 FSDUs and 51 standees; and, following on from the success of its Trade & Play event on October 16 in ten UK stores, Smyths has 130 FSDUs and 130 standees.

In addition, GameStop Ireland will feature 20 standees.

While the majority of activations are in the UK, the campaign will also have a presence in the Nordic countries, with 20 signpost standees in GameStop and Top Toy distributing 340 signpost standees and 70 double pallets.

Peter Murphy, senior director of licensing at The Pokémon Company International, said: “We are always looking for innovative new ways to engage with our fans and seasonally based campaigns like this provide us with a great way to create added stand out at retail.”

With strong feedback already received from retailers for the inaugural Halloween campaign, Pokémon is already planning to build an even bigger and better campaign for Halloween 2018.
