Tour DVD becomes biggest day one pre-ordered release in 2017 to date.
Global YouTube star, DanTDM, has smashed an Amazon.co.uk record by becoming the biggest day-one pre-ordered DVD release in 2017 to date.
DanTDM – real name Daniel Middleton – announced the pre-order date at Insomnia Festival in Birmingham during the August bank holiday weekend, with a promise that he will personally sign all DVDs ordered on the first day.
This year DanTDM’s global tour was a sell-out success with over 250,000 tickets sold. The tour visited over 80 cities worldwide and it was the second-fastest selling show in the Sydney Opera House’s history.
The DVD was filmed at the Eventim Apollo in London’s Hammersmith and features a number of extras including behind the scenes vlogs and footage, plus unique augmented reality character cards.
In 2015, the Amazon.co.uk record was held by another YouTube hot property Joe Sugg and Caspar Lee, with their BBC Worldwide title Joe and Caspar: Hit The Road.
Paul Hembury, director of entertainment talent, at BBC Worldwide, said: “At BBC Worldwide we love being able to give another platform to global digital talent, and continually extend fans enjoyment of their favourite digital stars.”
