Warner Bros. Consumer Products and The LEGO Group have joined forces for a global licensing and merchandising campaign for The LEGO Ninjago Movie. Partners include Handcraft Manufacturing, SGI Apparel, Isaac Morris, Bioworld, Clic Time, Sakar, Party City, Hallmark, Franco Manufacturing, DK Publishing, Scholastic, Ameet and Blue Ocean. In addition, LEGO will launch more than 15 original construction sets inspired by the film.
Coolabi has appointed Hannah Stevens as its new retail and licensing manager. Reporting to director of licensing, Val Fry, Hannah will focus on building retail partnerships and delivering bespoke retail promotions and product ranges across Coolabi’s portfolio, as well as identifying and developing licensing partners for various categories. Hannah joins the company from CPLG, where she was business development manager for retail.
Global kids content distributor Jetpack Distribution has acquired international rights to the first series of the new Dennis & Gnasher Unleashed from Beano Studios.
A new exclusive crate featuring Star Trek collectables and one of a kind experiences is launching from Loot Crate and Quantum Mechanic, under licence from CBS Consumer Products.
Mattel’s Hot Wheels brand will be supporting this weekend’s CarFest South in Hampshire. The event was created by Chris Evans and BBC’s Children in Need. The Hot Wheels sponsorship includes exclusive branding of the demo zone including a track in the brand’s signature orange, where Hot Wheels will take part in the car parade. There will also be performances from a professional Hot Wheels driver in an exclusive Hot Wheels stunt car among other activities.
Transformers: The Last Knight star, Mark Wahlberg, will be joining the line-up for HASCON on September 9. Mark will be participating in a special panel session on the movie. The Hasbro convention takes place from September 8-10 at the Rhode Island Convention Center and Dunkin’ Donuts Center in Providence, Rhode Island.
