World of Dinosaur Roar licensing plans unveiled

New publishing will be followed by full licensing campaign from Nurture Rights.

Nurture Rights and the Natural History Museum have collaborated on a new preschool property inspired by the classic picture book, Dinosaur Roar.

The World of Dinosaur Roar will launch with a collectable series of books – published by Macmillan Children’s Books – with this followed up with a wide ranging licensing programme.

Inspired by the classic picture book Dinosaur Roar by Paul Stickland and Henrietta Stickland, The World of Dinosaur Roar is a new concept that teaches preschoolers about dinosaurs.

The series introduces readers to a different title character in each book and uses his or her personality to teach children about dinosaurs in an engaging and entertaining way. Every book in the series also includes simple dinosaur facts and a pronunciation guide.

The collectable series of 26 books kicks off with Dinosaur Roar! The Tyrannosaurus Rex and Dinosaur Boo! The Deinonychus, followed by Dinosaur Stomp! The Triceratops and Dinosaur Munch! The Diplodocus in July.

Other characters will include the likes of Dinosaur Snap! The Spinosaurus, Dinosaur Flap! The Oviraptor and Dinosaur Whack! The Stegosaurus among others.

The property has been produced in association with the Natural History Museum in London, and all dinosaurs in the series have been verified and approved by Dr Paul Barrett of the Museum’s Department of Earth Sciences.

The names for the characters – created by Nurture Rights’ Peter Curtis – were developed by taking a particular character trait of the real dinosaur species and using active verbs to portray the character’s personality.

All books and licensed merchandise will carry the Natural History Museum logo.
