Licensing Expo University line-up attracts big names

Execs from Fanatics, Perfetti van Melle, King Features, Meredith among those taking part.

The popular Licensing University strand at this year’s Licensing Expo is taking shape, with a host of big name execs set to take part in panel sessions and give presentations.

Kicking off from May 22, Licensing University runs throughout the new-look Licensing Week. The Expo itself runs from May 23-25 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center, Las Vegas.

As previously reported, this year’s keynote is being delivered by Cole Gahagan, chief commercial officer at sports licensing company Fanatics who will discuss ‘Licensing in the on-demand economy’.

Christine Cool from Perfetti van Melle and Carla Silva from King Features will be among the panellists for Capsules, Collaborations and Limited Editions: Opportunities and Pitfalls; while Sondra Newkirk, Meredith and Ricardo Yoselevitz from Seltzer Licensing will be among those chatting about Studies in Food and Beverage Branding.

A number of ‘Basics’ sessions will also be taking place covering the likes of art licensing, international licensing, sports licensing and licensing law.

Mark Caplan from BD Labs will be part of a panel discussing The Changing Landscape of Digital Entertainment, while representatives from NFL Players and Major League Soccer will be advising attendees on how they can integrate sports into their product portfolio.
