World gets first look at Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Teaser trailer and poster unveiled at Star Wars Celebration in Orlando.

The world has been given its first look at the eagerly anticipated next instalment in the Star Wars saga.

Disney and Lucasfilm unveiled the official teaser trailer and poster for Star Wars: The Last Jedi at Star Wars Celebration, which took place in Orlando over the weekend.

As you might expect, while just a few minutes long, the footage set the internet alight, with various fan theories abounding within moments of it airing.

A number of stars from the franchise – including Mark Hamill and Daisy Ridley – appeared over the course of the event, as well as George Lucas himself and producer Kathleen Kennedy.

The daughter of the late Carrie Fisher – Billie Lourd – also made an appearance, delivering a reading of her mother’s famous hologram message to Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original 1977 film.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi will arrive in cinemas from December 15, 2017.
