Lidl scores with English, Scottish and Welsh FAs

Discount supermarket chain becomes lead ‘grassroots’ partner until 2018.

Lidl has teamed up with The FA, The Football Association Wales and The Scottish Football Association, becoming the leading grassroots partner for the trio of associations until 2018.

As well as becoming the Lead Skills Partner of The FA, Lidl also becomes the Official Supermarket of the England team. It will also be the Official Supplier for both the FAW and Scottish FA on selected products.

Lidl will be able to invest in the grassroots of the game and, as a result of the new partnership, Wales will be launching its first skills programme of this kind.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for Lidl and one that we are both excited and extremely proud to be a part of,” said Ryan McDonnell, UK purchasing director at Lidl.

“We look forward to building successful partnerships with the English, Scottish and Welsh FAs in developing the sport at both national and community levels.”
