Haribo revamps Smurfs range ahead of new film

Confectionery line relaunched adding new character from upcoming The Lost Village.

Haribo has made a number of new additions to its Smurfs range ahead of the arrival of Smurfs: The Lost Village in cinemas.

A new character – Gargamel – has been added, with a sour cherry flavour. It features alongside Smurf-shaped jelly pieces including Grouchy, Brainy and Jokey in strawberry and raspberry flavour, plus Smurfette in lemon and raspberry flavours.

Talking Retail also reports that Haribo Chamallows Smurfs Family – including Smurf characters and shapes in vanilla and raspberry flavours – will also launch this year.

“Just like the films and characters, Haribo Smurfs has benefitted from broad appeal and is a product that is loved by adults and children alike,” commented Alison Satterthwaite, brand manager for Haribo lead brands.

“Supported by the excitement generated by a new movie release, as well as a new flavour and product piece, Haribo Smurfs is definitely a must-stock treat for retailers and is perfect for consumers to share with friends and family.”
