Activision Blizzard unveils new CP division

New arm will be headed up by former Mattel and Disney exec, Tim Kilpin.

Activision Blizzard has signalled its intentions to ramp up its consumer products activity, forming a new dedicated division within the company.

Tim Kilpin – former president and chief commercial officer at Mattel and evp franchise management at The Walt Disney Company – will head up the new consumer products division.

Activision Publishing, Blizzard Entertainment and King Digital’s consumer products teams will join Tim in the new division, as he looks to further ‘deepen audience engagement’ with the company’s franchises.

“Inspiring play, competition and community underpins everything we do and giving audiences new ways to experience our franchises is core to this commitment,” said Bobby Kotick, ceo at Activision Blizzard.

“Under Tim’s leadership, we will elevate our consumer product offerings to the same level of exceptional quality as our games and transform the ways audiences connect with the characters they love in their everyday lives.”

Tim added: “I’m excited to lead this newly-formed division and join Activision Blizzard’s already incredibly talented consumer products team in delivering powerful new partnerships and even more touchpoints to audiences.”
