Hasbro rewards top licensees at HANAZUKI launch

Special event saw company present its Partnership Awards to six licensees.

Hasbro used the official launch event for its much anticipated tween property, HANAZUKI, as a perfect opportunity to present its Partnership Awards to licensees.

At a well attended launch, held at London’s Mayfair Hotel, Holly Oldham, director UK & Nordics of Hasbro Consumer Products, presented specially designed trophies to six suppliers in recognition of their licensing approach and performance over the last year.

Those feted were Worlds Apart, Smith & Brooks, Bluesky Studios, Aykroyds, TDP and Signature Publishing.

The top award, Gold Partner of the Year, was announced as Signature Publishing (pictured), which boasts a product portfolio including magazines for MY LITTLE PONY, MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS and TRANSFORMERS ROBOTS IN DISGUISE.

Commenting on receiving the award, Danny Morris, managing director of Signature Publishing said: “We’re delighted. We have been involved with My Little Pony since 2011 and it has been great to have been a part of this growing partnership with Hasbro.”

Signature Publishing is also the first company to sign up as a licensee for Hasbro’s new girls tween property, HANAZUKI.

As revealed in an exclusive interview with The Hollywood Reporter last week, this is Hasbro’s first animated digital series. Starting with nine, 11-minute episodes that are a mix of colourful psychedelia crossed with anime influences, viewers will meet a girl named Hanazuki, who is gifted with powers that are tied to her many moods.
