Starbucks joins Pokémon Go partners in US

Coffee chain to host new gyms and PokéStops at 7,800 outlets in the US.

Starbucks is getting on board with Pokémon Go in the US, with the coffee chain set to host new gyms and PokéStops.

According to Tech Crunch, 7,800 company-run Starbucks stores in the US will be involved.

In addition to the gyms and PokéStops, Starbucks will also be creating a Pokémon Go edition Frappuccino to mark the collaboration.

The tie up is similar to the one forged with McDonald’s earlier this year, which saw 3,000 locations in Japan turned into gyms and PokéStops.
