Rainbow Productions set for busy December

Events in full swing right up to Christmas Eve and then again on December 29-30.

Character costume and mascot specialist Rainbow Productions is set for a busy December – with events planned right up until Christmas Eve, and then again on December 29 and 30.

As 2016 draws to a close, recent weeks have seen Rainbow Productions manage character appearances at venues across the UK and Ireland.

Ubercorn from the Go Jetters met fans at a retail store in Kilmarnock; Cardiff City Council hosted a visit from The Gruffalo; The Clangers performed a mini Show at a Belfast City Council event; and Fireman Sam made in-store appearances at Hamleys in Dublin to name just a few.

The company also worked with Hamleys on its second Christmas Toy Parade at the end of November – Rainbow Productions was involved in the early planning stages right through to working alongside brand owners to manage the personal appearances of 44 licensed characters in the parade along London’s Regent Street.

On top of this, November also saw licensed characters present on the huge show floor at the World Travel Market – the global B2B travel trade show – held at London ExCel from November 7-9. Licensed IP characters were present to support exhibition stands featuring tourism attractions.

The Smurfs were in the Middle East section of the show floor, connected to Dubai Parks & Resorts featuring a branded Smurfs attraction, while Trolls’ Poppy and Branch were at WTM on behalf of Visit Denmark.

The company has also taken children’s characters to Christmas Lights Switch-On events within town centres and shopping centres up and down the country, from Romford to Reading, Brent Cross to Bradford.

Among these events, Boj attended Wolverhampton City’s Christmas event, while the PJ Masks attended Christmas events at Castle Mall in Norwich and the Palace Exchange in Enfield (pictured).

Christmas-related events which have already taken place include The Gruffalo heading to Rainham in Kent on December 2, as part of festivities organised by Medway Council. Peppa Pig was also present at St. John’s Hospice Christmas Fayre in St. Johns Wood on December 4, while Poppy and Branch from Trolls visited Selfridges London (December 2) and Selfridges in Birmingham (December 3).

Laa-Laa and Po from the Teletubbies are set to visit four Toys R Us stores, while Spin Master Toys continues its retail support with PAW Patrol activities at stores.

In addition, Rainbow Productions is also managing the personal appearances of Mr. Adventure across various London Heathrow terminals on several dates: December 9-10 and December 15-21.
