Fenwick Newcastle unveils Beatrix Potter windows

This year’s Christmas window is inspired by the author’s 150th anniversary.

Fenwick Newcastle has used Beatrix Potter as the inspiration for its 2016 animated Christmas windows.

Unveiled on Friday November 4 by children from The Great North Children’s Hospital, the windows depict the most popular Beatrix Potter stories and characters.

These include Peter Rabbit in the first scene, Jeremy Fisher, Jemima Puddle-Duck and the Tailor of Gloucester in the final showcase.

Thomas Merrington, head of product development and brand manager for Peter Rabbit at Penguin Random House, consulted on the development and creative execution of the characters with Fenwick.

He commented: “How fitting to see Beatrix Potter’s characters as the theme for this year’s Fenwick Christmas window.

“Two iconic and much loved brands that bring generations together to share special memories. What a fantastic privilege it is to bring Peter Rabbit and his friends to life in such a magical way in this 150th anniversary year of Beatrix Potter.”

Fenwick chairman, Mark Fenwick, added: “For the 45th anniversary of our Christmas windows, we are delighted to be able to showcase Beatrix Potter’s fabled characters.”
