Hachette boosts Enid Blyton brand

New global brand manager appointed to manage classic property.

Hachette Children’s Group is looking to further raise the profile of the classic Enid Blyton brand.

The company has created the role of global brand manager to handle the development of the brand and implement a number of new strategies.

Etta Saunders will join the company on November 23, and will work closely with the licensing and publishing teams to maximise growth for the Enid Blyton brand.

Etta joins from Frances Lincoln where she is currently publishing manager, stationery and gift product. She began her career at Marvel Comics before moving into children’s television. Etta then moved into mass market publishing with companies including Parragon and Redan, and has a successful track record in developing and managing major licensed brands.

“I grew up with Enid Blyton’s fabulous characters and thrilling adventure stories,” Etta commented. “If I could have invented  job for myself as a child, then this might well have been it.

“I can’t wait to work with the Hachette Children’s Group management team to implement the new and exciting strategies we have in store for this classic brand.”

Hilary Murray Hill, group CEO, added: “Etta’s appointment is designed to maximise the potential of the Enid Blyton brand and ensure Blyton’s legacy as a best selling global children’s author.

“Etta has a wealth of experience working with character brands and her skills will be invaluable in our development plans.”
