Company picks up publishing rights for Cheeky Little Media preschool brand.
It may only be a few weeks into its Australian debut, but Cheeky Little Media’s preschool brand Kazoops is already making waves – and Penguin Random House Australia has snapped up the publishing rights.
A range of titles is due to launch in June 2017 including storybooks, sticker and activity titles. The books will share the adventures of Monty and his best friend Jimmy Jones, the family’s pet pig, as they draw on their imagination to help solve daily issues common to all preschoolers.
The Fusion Agency is handling the licensing for Kazoops in Australia, while Art + Science International is looking after the UK and will be showcasing the property at Brand Licensing Europe in October.
“The reality behind bringing the characters to life through consumer products is now coming to fruition, with extremely strong ratings on the ABC Kids and on CBeebies in the UK,” said Gail Mitchell, md of The Fusion Agency.
“There are so many amazing episodes to draw inspiration from that we feel we have a winner here.”
Lou Elkington, licensing brand manager for Kazoops, is currently negotiating key categories including global toy, apparel and accessories. There will be a variety of products available for the second half of 2017.
