Entertainment giant among first brands to sign up with wifi connected device in the UK.
The Amazon Dash Button – the wifi connected device which reorders products with the press of a button – has launched in the UK, and Hasbro is among the first wave of companies and brands to get on board.
Dash Buttons for Hasbro’s Nerf and Play-Doh brands are now exclusively available for Amazon Prime members in the UK.
The idea behind Dash Buttons is that Prime members never have to worry about running out of a variety of items; when they see supplies running low, they simply press a Dash Button to order an item.
“Teaming up with Amazon to create Amazon Dash Buttons for two of our most popular brands, Nerf and Play-Doh, gives families the unique opportunity to ensure that the fun never stops even when Nerf darts and Play-Doh supplies begin to run low,” said Craig Wilkins, marketing director for Hasbro UK.
“This innovative new way to order makes replenishing these everyday play essentials as easy as pushing a button, offering added speed and convenience to shoppers.”
Other brands currently on board in the UK include the likes of Fairy, Ariel, Durex, Pedigree, Kleenex, Lenor, Johnson’s Baby, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Vanish, Whiskas and Dettol among others.
Further brands will be added over time – with Hasbro’s involvement surely prompting a few other toy and entertainment companies to take a look.
Exclusive to Prime members, Dash Buttons cost £4.99 – although customers do get £4.99 back on their first order.
Dash Buttons launched in the US last year, with the number of brands, orders and items increasing at a rapid pace, according to Amazon. In the last two months, Dash Button orders have increased by 3x and orders via Dash Button take place at a rate of over twice a minute.
