PMS International signs The Smurfs

Range of pocket money toys, stationery and outdoor play will launch at Autumn Fair.

I.M.P.S has welcomed PMS International Group to The Smurfs licensing programme, ahead of next year’s new Sony Pictures film Smurfs: The Lost Village.

In a deal brokered by Rocket Licensing, PMS International has secured rights for the UK and Eire across pocket money toys, stationery and outdoor play.

An expansive range will launch exclusively at Autumn Fair in September, marketed under GOSH Designs.

Ruth Leonard, head of brand and licensing at PMS International, commented: “The Smurfs is such an iconic property, so not only do we expect to appeal to retro enthusiasts, but with the new film Smurfs: The Lost Village being fully CG animated, our extensive range will capture the imagination of younger fans across a variety of price points.

“The plot and style of the film are quite different to what we have seen before and we look forward to showcasing the range reflecting the fun, vibrancy and charm of the new animated style.”

Charlie Donaldson, joint md at Rocket Licensing, added: “We are very excited to be adding PMS International to our growing list of partners. PMS are going to create a terrific range which, together with the new movie, will thrill a whole new generation of kids.”
