Licensing execs help Toy Trust on way to £200k

Execs from eOne, CPLG, Rainbow Designs, Blues take part in Big Cambridge Challenge on July 2.

Some 230 toy and licensing executives helped raise £180,000 for the Toy Trust at the weekend – taking part in the epic sounding Big Cambridge Challenge.

And, with more pledges promised, the total is like to hit the £200,000 mark, which will go towards the Toy Trust’s ‘Giving the Gift of Play’ cause.

Money raised to go to supply play equipment of children’s hospices across the UK.

Participants – including a number from the licensing community who cycled 80 miles: CPLG’s Stephen Gould, Hannah Mungo from eOne, Anthony Temple from Rainbow Designs, Gemma’s Becky Coles, Peter Rooke from Art + Science, Blues’ Patrick Bailey and Max Publishing’s Ian Hyder – cycled, run, walked and skydived during the July 2 event.

Kerry Vaughan, visual merchandising manager at The Entertainer, was one of the brave souls who took on the skydiving challenge (pictured).

There were also teams and representatives from Hasbro, Character Options, Mattel, Vivid, Disney, Rubie’s, Jakks and Toymaster among others.

“It was another amazing Big Challenge success story for the Toy Trust and it was great to see such a large number of people from all areas of the industry coming together to support our Giving The Gift Of Play theme,” commented Foye Pascoe, chair of the Toy Trust Committee.

“Our thanks go to them all and also to the support crews that helped us to make it all happen, namely St Neots and St Mary’s Rotary Club and the BTHA team, particularly Nick Austin and Matt Jones, who yet again did a tremendous job of inspiring, leading and managing this event.”
