The LEGO Group has unveiled a new wave of nine LEGO Star Wars building sets, just in time for fans to ‘Power the Force’ for the annual May the 4th celebrations.
In addition to the new sets – which will launch on 1 May – fans will be able to immerse themselves in new adventures and exclusive experiences at the LEGO Star Wars booth at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Japan (18-20 April).
With the newest addition to the Ultimate Collector Series: the LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett’s Firespray-Class Starship set, fans can act out their favourite movie scenes manoeuvring through asteroid fields and chasing down Jedi masters. The 2,970-piece set features an authentic interior, a movable main entrance, adjustable blasters and a seismic charge. The set can be displayed in landing position or upright flight position.
The LEGO Star Wars Brick-Built Star Wars Logo set is a 700-piece build which brings to life one of the most recognisable movie title cards in 3D form; while the most mischievous droid in the whole galaxy is coming to life in LEGO brick form with the new LEGO Star Wars Chopper (C1-10P) Astromech Droid building set from the series, Ahsoka. The set features head movements, posable arms and hidden tools.
Builders can explore all the intricacies of the LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren Helmet building set as the newest addition to the helmet collection. The set features 529 pieces of pure dark side detail. The LEGO Star Wars Jango Fett Helmet as seen in Star Wars: Attack of the Clones, brings to life unique details such as the adjustable rangefinder antenna, with 616 pieces in total.
In time for the 10th anniversary of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the LEGO Star Wars Kylo Ren’s Command Shuttle building set is the newest addition to the Starship Collection; while the new LEGO Star Wars Rebel U-Wing Starfighter set is built with 594 LEGO pieces. The iconic Rebel carrier as seen in the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and the series Andor A Star Wars Story, features minifigures of Cassian Andor, K-2SO, an ISB Tactical Agent and, for the first time in minifigure form, Dedra Meero.
To round off the wave of new LEGO Star Wars sets are the LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Luke Skywalker (Rebel Pilot) and the LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Revenge of the Sith Heroes and Villains sets.
“We’re thrilled to unveil our latest LEGO Star Wars collection just in time for May the 4th, offering new and exciting sets for fans,” commented Mike Ilacqua, head of product, LEGO Star Wars products at the LEGO Group. “Our talented team have outdone themselves, creating a wide range of models from across the galaxy. There’s something for every fan to enjoy – from the most detailed collector’s items for display to fun, adventurous sets inspired by the galaxy far, far away… We can’t wait to see LEGO Star Wars fans first impressions at Star Wars Celebration in Japan very soon.”
LEGO will host a booth filled with a number of unique experiences at Star Wars Celebration Japan, including a display of the new sets. Attendees can also take part of Q&A sessions with members of the LEGO Star Wars design team. The booth will bring scenes from the big screen to fans in LEGO brick form, with photo opportunities, exclusive giveaways and special announcements. At the LEGO pop up store, fans will be able to get their hands on the new LEGO Star Wars Brick-Built Star Wars Logo building set and the LEGO Star Wars BrickHeadz Revenge of the Sith Heroes and Villains sets early.
