The Brand Department is a boutique licensing agency based in London. We help world-class brands and experts grow through strategic licensing partnerships. We are looking for a project manager to support our expanding portfolio of clients, including Mary Berry, Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen, Paloma Faith, Sophie Robinson, The Doodle Boy, Aspinal of London, Cosatto, BBC Interior Design Masters, Mallows Beauty to name a few.
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and detail-oriented individual to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of a range of projects, across product categories from fashion to food and beverage to home interiors. About the Role
As a project manager, you’ll play a key role in our team, managing licensee and client relationships, and helping new business opportunities. You’ll work across a diverse range of clients and product categories, contributing to the growth of our fast-moving and creative projects.
What You’ll Do
Account & Licensee Management
- Build and nurture strong, long term relationships with brand owners, licensees and retail partners, serving as the day-to-day point of contact for both.
- Understand strategy pertaining to each of the client accounts and manage relationships accordingly, with focus across NPD, financials, critical paths and delivery, marketing, promotion and performance.
- Maintain client status reports, project plans, and timelines.
- Support the development of marketing activations and brand collaborations.
- Oversee product approvals, ensuring timely review and feedback.
- Stay informed on industry trends and business opportunities.
- Organise and assist with client events and meetings.
- Proactively manage relationships to ensure targets are achieved.
- Implement dispute resolution where needed.
Business Development & Research
- Conduct research and share insight on retail analysis, trends, retail landscapes.
- Analyse results of launches and products, draw conclusions on further potentially valuable product extensions.
- Support on producing compelling pitches and presentations to potential new clients.
- Potential for research on prospective partners and outreach to potential licensees.
What We’re Looking For
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in licensing, brand management, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong communication and relationship management skills with a pragmatic approach
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities and ability to prioritise tasks
- Ability to work under pressure across multiple projects
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Proactive mindset – a problem-solver who takes initiative.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced and evolving business environment.
- Familiarity with product approval processes (preferred but not required).
