Annuals continue to deliver for Farshore

Farshore has continued its success in the annuals space this year, with Nielsen Bookscan data showing the company achieved eight of the top 20 titles in the category.

According to Nielsen Bookscan, Farshore secured 36.5% share of the annuals market by value and 41% by volume YTD.

Gaming annuals continued to deliver strong performance in the market, with the Minecraft Annual 2025 hitting number two, achieving TCM sales of 47,000 YTD, and the Pokémon Annual 2025 coming in at number four with TCM sales of 37,000 YTD.

Minecraft is the number one gaming brand in the market in the UK, having sold over 8,000,000 copies TCM since launch. 100% Unofficial Taylor Swift Annual 2025 has been a breakout success for Farshore as the highest performing new entry to the market, appearing at number seven with TCM sales of 25,000 YTD (all data sourced from Nieslen BookScan for week ending 7 December 2024).

Farshore’s range also includes classic brands such as Rupert the Bear and Thomas & Friends, plus unofficial annuals including 100% Unofficial Roblox and 100% Unofficial Fortnite.

This year saw Farshore add Barbie, Disney Moana and Sonic the Hedgehog to its official annuals line-up.

“We’re delighted to have another incredible market share performance in 2024, with our gaming titles doing especially well this year,” commented John Packard, publishing director at Farshore. “Brands and character publishing is a proven path into reading for pleasure many kids, so we are very proud of our annuals list.”
