Southern Quiz Night rounds out another successful fundraising year for The Light Fund

A successful Southern Quiz last night (Thursday 28 November) rounded out another strong 12 months of fundraising by the licensing industry for The Light Fund.

Industry executives from companies including Brands In, Rainbow Productions, Two Daughters Entertainment, SGLP, Rockpool Licensing, Brands with Influence, Universal, Roy Lowe & Sons, Penguin Random House, The Insights Family, Wow Stuff, Beano, Rainbow Designs, Brand Collective, Retail Monster, Caroline Mickler, Metrostar, Cloudco Entertainment, Bulldog Licensing, Bravado, Funko, Rocket Licensing, Bioworld, Panini, Warner Bros. Discovery, Misirli, Max Publishing, Kilogrammedia, Products of Change, Moonbug and Dependable Solutions headed to Lords Cricket Ground for the popular event.

As well as the quizzing fun, there was also a bumper raffle – with generously donated prizes including a Nintendo Switch.

In the battle for the trophy, the team from Rainbow Productions emerged victorious with 111 points, followed by Wow Stuff/The HaciENdas (Wow Stuff and Penguin Random House) with 106 and Maximum Effort, Minimum Knowledge (Max Publishing, Products of Change, Kilogrammedia) with 103.

At the other end of the table, three teams were in close contention for the ‘Big Pants’ – which this year had a significant nautical theme: Never Mind We’re B*llocks, Here’s Bravado, Bear Bones of Trivia (Cloudco Entertainment/Bulldog Licensing) and Donna Tella The Answers (Brands In), with the latter’s score of 81 points meaning they took home the pants (pictured above).

“The last fundraising event of the 20th anniversary year went off with a bang and a flurry of pants, raising over £3,000,” commented Trevor Jones, chair of The Light Fund. “Thanks to everyone for all their support throughout the year and I look forward to seeing them on a peak in September 2025 for our big 5-3-1 Challenge.”

The full standings can be seen below, with The Light Fund due to confirm the 2024 charity beneficiaries in December. Further details on the 5-3-1 Peaks Challenge can be found by clicking here.
