Wicked, Harry Potter and Paddington Bear take starring roles in Hamleys festive windows

Hamleys has officially begun its countdown to Christmas with the unveiling of its highly anticipated Christmas Windows at the world-famous toy shop on Regent Street in London.

Crowds gathered to see Hamleys’ Christmas Window themes for 2024, which celebrate the magic of three beloved film franchises: Wicked, Harry Potter and Paddington Bear.

As the curtains opened, families were treated to a winter wonderland window, created in collaboration with Warner Bros. The window showcases scenes from Christmas in the Wizarding World, featuring iconic elements from Hogwarts, magical creatures and snowy landscapes.

The flagship shop also unveiled a Paddington-themed Christmas window, inspired by Paddington in Peru (which hits cinemas from today, 8 November). The nostalgic set up gives families an opportunity to immerse themselves in Paddington’s world, filled with scenes and props from his journey back to Peru.

Finally, the Wicked window display brings the world of Oz to life on Regent Street with a window dedicated to the long-awaited Wicked: Part One film, set to release on 27 November.

The window unveiling event also included performances by a brass band to set the mood with classic Christmas carols, with vocalist Joe Palmer leading the singalong. There were also appearances from Red, Red, Red and the Hamleys Bear and his troop of Elves.

New for this year, Hamleys has partnered with sweet brand, Haribo – during the Christmas window reveal Haribo Goldbear and Hamleys Christmas elves gifted 2,000 mini bags of sweets to the public and posed for selfies.

Beyond the windows, Hamleys has expanded its festive experience in-store with interactive events including meet and greet opportunities with Santa, workshops and themed shopping for visitors seeking festive magic.
