English Heritage teams with Barker and Stonehouse for full furniture collection

In a deal brokered by its licensing agency, Golden Goose, English Heritage is continuing to build its presence within the consumer products space, launching a full furniture collection with Barker and Stonehouse.

Launching this month, the exclusive collection aims to celebrate Britain’s rich history, taking inspiration from three English Heritage sites.

From the quintessential English countryside to the historic homes of influential individuals, this collection focuses on colour and pattern by bringing dramatic floral and fauna based fabric designs into the home.

Each range consists of a sofa, chair and footstool and is based on unique hand-painted patterns, which reimagine captivating designs found within three key historical homes: Belsay Hall, Down House and Osborne House.

“As a family-owned retailer with a 78-year history, we understand the importance of heritage, and so we were delighted to collaborate with English Heritage on this exclusive collection,” commented Lena Gierasinska, head of product and displays at Barker and Stonehouse. “Through its launch, we invite our customers to embark on a journey through time, and to celebrate history in the modern day, by bringing a piece of history-with-a-twist into their own homes.”

Alexandra Bovey, licensing and commercial development manager at English Heritage, continued: “Developing a range that not only celebrates England’s rich history but showcases quality English design and manufacturing skills, has been an absolute pleasure. With the support of our expert historians and curators, the product design team were meticulous in their research on some of English Heritage’s most unique and interesting properties, to ensure that the range is full of subtle nods to these historic homes. The range is available to buy exclusively from Barker and Stonehouse, who have a rich history of their own, and a passion for beautifully UK-made products.”

English Heritage will be exhibiting at Brand Licensing Europe from 24-26 September on stand C255.
